The Predator Captain jumps again. Minnesota gets play-off at home, Carolina meets Boston.
In the NHL, the regular season ended mostly on Friday night – Sunday’s last game between Winnipeg and Seattle is no longer important. With Roman Josin, Kevin Fiala and Nino Niederreiter, three Swiss are fighting for the Stanley Cup.
Josi ended his fairytale regular season with the 96th point scored: The Bernez defender gave Colton Sissons the assist to make it 1-0 in Nashville’s 4-5 loss to Arizona. Josi is the first defender to score 95 points since Phil Housley (97 points) in 1992/93.
Nashville gambled early in the 4-0 lead
Meanwhile, the Predators failed to feel good about the play-off stage, losing the 4-0 lead over the Western Conference final (with Janis Moser assisting 4-4), which they had already held in the first. 7 minutes. In the play-offs, the Tennessee franchise meets conference winner Colorado Avalanche.
Minnesota at home, Carolina vs. Boston
Fiala, who was once without a goal scorer, secured local rights in the first round of the play-off with Minnesota thanks to a 4-1 home win against Colorado. In this they meet St. Louis Blues.
The real estate winner of the Carolina Metropolitan Division with Niederreiter has to deal with the Boston Bruins.
The other Swiss:
- Pius Suter wins Detroit Red Wings 5: 3 away to New Jersey Devils. The former ZSC player meanwhile made the score 3: 4, while Hischier gave an assist on the other side.
- Timo Meier fails to score in San Jose 3-0 loss to Seattle Kraken. The same goes for Philip Kurashev of Chicago (2-3 in Buffalo) and Dean Kukan of Columbus (3-5 in Pittsburgh).
