The Bridgerton series is one of the most successful Netflix productions of all time. With Season 2 finally available to air in March 2022, many are now asking: What about Bridgerton Season 3? TECHBOOK has summarized all the known facts and rumors about the plot, the actor and the start date.
Beautiful intrigues, gossip, scandals – and of course great feelings! Hardly any series represents all of this as much as “Brigerton.” The first season started on Netflix in December 2020, the second most recently in March 2022. If you look at the top 10 most successful Netflix English language series, the two seasons occupy places 1 and 2 and are ahead of other major productions like “Stranger Things “or” The Witcher “. In an international comparison, only “Squid Game” was more successful!
From the beginning it was almost certain that there would be a sequel. Especially since the book template would give so much more and a whole series of Bridgertons from the title are not under the hood. What do we know about the sequel so far?
When is Bridgerton season 3 coming?
Meanwhile, not only is Bridgerton season 3 already commissioned, but season 4 has already been commissioned. Fans of the series, and Queen Charlotte in particular, can look forward to a spin-off about the eccentric character’s story. However, a more precise timeline is not known for any of the three projects.
Between the release of seasons 1 and 2 almost 15 months, i.e. a little over a year. However, production was delayed due to the corona pandemic. In Bridgerton season 3, this should not matter too much. Therefore, insiders are confident that we can count on the beginning of early 2023, at the latest in the spring.
That’s been done so far
The action takes place in London in the early 19th century, with everything focused on ball season. The ominous lady Whistledown, the publisher of her tabloid, in which she reveals high-class secrets, brings turmoil to this scenario, which is already stressful for everyone involved.
The Bridgerton family belongs to this stratum; in the previous two seasons, one of the children of the family was in focus. The series is clearly based on Julia Quinn’s novel. Season 1 followed the eldest daughter Daphne and her love story with Simon, the Duke of Hastings. Season 2 focused on her older brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), who became the head of the family after his father’s death and was caught between his duty and his feelings for Kate Sharma.
Now the question is which kid will play in Bridgerton season 3?
Possible Bridgerton season 3 plot
Attention, from here follow the massive ones wreckerboth for the series and for the novel!
So far, the series has followed the book template. According to presenter Shonda Rhimes (“Gray’s Anatomy”), however, it is still not certain which Bridgerton is now the focus. This causes various speculations.
Who is at the center of the action?
If you follow the order of the books, it would actually be Benedict’s turn. The second of the artistically talented family struggles with his role and the expectations of society. When he learns in season 2 that his place in art school owes him family money, he falls into a mental crisis. Most likely the sequel will continue with this topic. Of course, it is also important for Benedict to find a partner. In the original book, he is particularly concerned with an unknown woman in a masked ball, who later turns out to be Sophie Beckett. The young woman is the illegitimate daughter of a count, abused by her stepmother and sentenced to an existence like Cinderella.
Volume 4 of the template is about Collin, the third eldest son. Since the plot between him and Penelope Featherington, who more or less secretly loves him, is already coming to the fore in season 2, it would also be conceivable that the series would prefer this story. Especially since Penelope’s secret that she stands behind Lady Whistledown is already known to both viewers and her friend Eloise. This thesis is supported by the fact that in the novel two years pass between the meeting of Benedict and Sofia in disguised ball and the end of their story. So maybe Benedict will meet his mysterious stranger in season 3, but the story will not be resolved until season 4.

Eloise’s story may also be the theme of Bridgerton’s season 3, though this is considered impossible. The second big rebellious girl is actually only in Volume 5. However, a lot of attention was paid to the development of her character already in seasons 1 and 2. And her future husband, Sir Phillip Crane, has already been introduced. However, as already mentioned, this scenario is the most impossible.
More stories for Bridgerton season 3
In addition to this speculation about the main plot, it has already been revealed that the story of Kate and Anthony has not yet been fully told. Kate’s sister, Edwina, would also likely be linked to Prince Frederick of Prussia, who was turned down by Daphne in Season 1. Season 2 ended with a bang for the Featherington family, too, when the Portia family head sent in the new Lord Featherington, Jack, in America with a scheme to protect her daughters.
All of these stories are likely to be encountered in Bridgerton season 3 in one way or another, as well as the relationship between Queen Charlotte and her husband King George III. This is exciting in that the story of these two, which made possible 19th-century alternative England, where blacks are an integral part of nobility, is likely to be part of the spin-off.
Actors and their characters
Since this is an ensemble series, the cast is quite broad. After the outstanding departure of Regé-Jean Page, who played Daphne’s husband Simon Basset in season 1, Bridgerton season 3 sees the entire cast seem to be returning.
